Kawhi Leonard and the Toronto Raptors will try to dethrone the greatest NBA team ever assembled (even without Kevin Durant). Will any of our NBA writers pick against the Warriors?

This could be any team in the East, and I still would pick Golden State to win in 5 games or less. Those who have followed MFST for the last four years know how much I hate the Warriors, but I have to be honest with myself. No team is beating them--maybe next year? Hopefully...

This could be a very interesting NBA Finals. Toronto swept the season series with Golden State. Kawhi making a return to the Finals in his first season with Toronto, possibly his only season with Toronto, is incredible. What happens if they win it all? What happens if they don't? I like the Raptors depth and defensive prowess. They also have home court in this series. Marc Gasol was a great addition. Now guys like Siakam, Powell, Green, Ibaka, and Van Fleet, are all playing their roles and contributing well. The problem is they're facing one of the greatest dynasties I have seen and the Warriors do everything the Raptors do...but better. I don't think it matters if Durant or Cousins plays. Steph, Klay, and Draymond are the NBA's Big 3. It may feel like Kawhi is playing one-on-three out there at times. The Raptors are a great story this season, but I'm not sure they are ready to hoist the O'Brien trophy in their first Finals appearance in franchise history, against the Warriors dynasty. I picked against the Warriors once this year against the Rockets. I'm not making that mistake again.

The Warriors will not be as big of a favorite without Durant. However, their pace and offense is undeniably good. The Raptors defense may hold them for spurts, but if they get in a rhythm, it will be over for the Raptors. Curry will also claim his first Finals MVP.

I’m deeply saddened to be writing this prediction. Much like the Patriots dynasty, it irks me when a team consistently wins or succeeds year after year. That said, Golden State has the most talented lineup in NBA with stars at every position. Rumors are that Golden State might even have Cousins back for the beginning of the series. I’m impressed the Raptors have come this far, but they just don’t have the skill or depth to best the Dubs.

I have the Raptors winning for these reasons, first if Drake wears a Warriors jersey automatically the chances of the Raptors winning are better that dude is a walking voodoo curse for teams, he's out ruining players lives. Second, Kawhi Leonard shut down a Top 5 player and made him look like an undrafted failure despite the talent and impact Giannis had. Kevin Durant might want to just go right to New York, he doesn't want that mentality guarding him.

Durant’s health is the factor here. Golden State and Steph Curry have been unbelievable lately, but I’m really digging what Toronto has been doing. They’re also playing with great chemistry, and Kawhi Leonard is showing the world why he’s a top 3 player.
