30 Seconds to MarsOn January 24, 2017 after I finished working on a previous article decided to hop on facebook one last time. In big bold print my friend Sarah had posted 30 STM is coming to Ohio.

For those not familiar with what I am referring to is the rock band 30 Seconds To Mars.

After getting info from Sarah I decided to forego sleeping, instead staying up all night so I could buy meet and greets tickets the next day. I had been trying for years to go see them.

At 7:00 am on the pre-sale date I had three-day tickets to the Bunbury Festival in Cincinnati, Ohio and meeting Mars on June the 4th.

I felt like June would never come but the closer the festival date the faster time flew by. Suddenly it was time. After two days of getting a feel for the festival and a meet up with some echelons. It was time.

Sunday was here, I had very little sleep part excitement/nerves. Also the drive from festival and back home again was tiring. I set off telling myself no ‘fan-girling’ and for heaven sakes, don’t trip.

We lined up and were given our badges, totes and signed posters. AIW and Mars thought enough of us to move the M&G out of the sun and into the shade and offered us water to drink. We didn’t wait long. As soon as Reni covered our do’s and don’ts and Shayla collected gifts. Yes I bought some for the guys and stuffed it all in a NASA astronaut gift bag.

We did a Q&A. Shannon mostly led the Q&A. All the guys were joking. Especially Jared dressed head to toe in Gucci. I won’t discuss the meet and greet Q&A. I want to keep that private between those of us who attended nothing controversial was discussed but because it was our time with the boys we need it to be just ours.

It was short, not the guys fault I need to add. We had our pics taken with the band. That damn security guard Bunbury staff not Mars distracted me and made me look to the side. He also made me miss out on upgrade to stage since I couldn’t follow what Reni exactly but had to do what he said. It seems he had done it to other echelons too. I wasn’t the only one.

At 6:00 the Mars roadies began setting up for the show. Mars began playing at 7:49. The show ran for an hour. The bands flags were waved around by the audience members. I got about 50 feet from the left side stage. The boys heavily interacted with audience, getting them to participate.

Tomo and Stevie sang so hard I thought they would pop a vein or vocal cord. Shannon banged the drums with enough verbosity I thought he was going to lose one and it go rolling off the stage. Jared decided the stage didn’t go far enough into the audience and decided to jump stage and go become apart of the audience himself. Balloons and confetti were released into the audience as well.

Looks like Mars rocked and brought Cincinnati to its knees. We miss you boys already. Did I mention we love you?

Special thank you to old friends and the new ones I met. Thanks for including me. I hope to see you guys again soon.
