Tonight begins the two-night special of WWE’s annual superstar shakeup! It’s a great way to freshen up the rosters following Wrestlemania. The SmackTalk team decided to dig in to four superstars who need to switch brands and move from either the blue brand or the red brand to give their careers a new beginning.

Insider BA:

Braun Strowman to Smackdown

Superstar Shake-up is here and I have one HUGE switch that needs to happen to save his career. That man is none other than “The Monster Among Men”, Braun Strowman!!! Ever since WWE has dropped the ball with Braun by not putting him over as a champion, he has grown stale just because of the fact he does the same routine every week. Whether it’s destroying cars or local superstars it’s getting old quick that I was totally ok with him being absent from the #RAWafterMania. However when he showed up on the Smackdown Live after Wrestlemania to confront Samoa Joe I was ALL IN. Smackdown Live is the land of opportunity and I know if Braun makes the switch to the blue brand he will definitely grab the brass ring and whether he’s face or heel someone is going to GET HIS HANDS!!

Tim Ohh:

Finn Balor to Smackdown

Samoa Joe to RAW

The Superstar Shakeup is right around the corner, and while there are a bunch of superstars who would benefit from a brand switch, there are two in particular who stand to gain a lot, but also offer the most to their sister brands upon arrival. Those two are Finn Balor, and Samoa Joe. Balor and Joe also happen to currently be Intercontinental Champion and United States Champion, respectively. Not only can would these superstars benefit from a change of scenery, I believe these Titles would benefit as well.

Many people forget Finn Balor is the first ever Universal Champion, and ever since dropping that title due to injury he has fallen into irrelevance on the red brand. Even his Demon gimmick has fallen flat with recent squash matches vs Bobby Lashley and Baron Corbin before that. He should be on Smackdown Live, creating amazing matches with the likes of AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, Rey Mysterio, Andrade, and newly crowned WWE Champion Kofi Kingston. These guys are more his size, and compliment his wrestling style and pace more-so than the current roster on RAW. With Finn on the same brand as AJ Styles, there is also the possibility of The Club reforming, and that would truly be too sweet.
_
The Intercontinental Title would also come back to the brand that made it great. Well… OK, maybe it was more that The Miz made it awesome, but it’s a good thing that he also happens to still be on Smackdown Live. I don’t think anyone would be upset to see The Miz eventually end up with that IC Title again, and Finn Balor coming to Smackdown Live makes it possible. There’s just something that always feels right when The Miz is chasing, or has, that Intercontinental Title that he makes it seem so prestigious.

Samoa Joe on the other hand, has actually been just fine on Smackdown Live, but he is so damn good on the mic, in the ring, and he has the size to go back to RAW and compete with anyone on that roster. With the IC Title coming back to Smackdown, Joe would bring the US Title back to RAW. Between Drew McIntyre, Braun, Lashley, there are plenty of great physical feuds that you can put together and elevate the US Title to the highest place it’s been since John Cena held weekly open challenges.
_
With both superstars and Titles switching brands, the possibilities are endless. The Demon vs Daniel Bryan, The Club vs New Day, maybe even a much deserved Universal Champion Samoa Joe down the line…a man can dream.

Macho Man Matty Savage:

Drew McIntyre to Smackdown

When it comes to the superstar shakeup, the first name that comes to mind is Drew McIntyre without a doubt. The Scottish Psychopath has been stuck in limbo on RAW since splitting away from Dolph Ziggler. The future looked clear that he would go on to dominate the main event picture but that hasn’t been the case overall. He’s been inserted into stupid unnecessary teams with Baron Corbin and Bobby Lashley. Then when WWE started to show glimpses that he was a force as a singles competitor, he loses at Wrestlemania to Roman Reigns. To make matters worse, now he’s got new buddies in The Bar??

While I would love to see a Rollins/McIntyre feud for the Universal Title, it’s time to move Drew to Smackdown, the “land of opportunity”. Want him to have even more heat and become an even bigger heel? Have him be the one to end Kofi-Mania and dominate as the WWE Champion as Smackdown prepares its move to FOX in the fall.
