The 2018 edition of the Superstar Shakeup has come to an end, and now it’s time to speculate who will have the best takeaways from switching brands!

In case you missed it, here are the official shakeups:

RAW: Jinder Mahal, Riott Squad, Breezango, Baron Corbin, Natalya, Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Bobby Roode, Mojo Rawley, Zack Ryder, The Ascension, Mike Kanellis, and Chad Gable

SmackDown: The Miz, Jeff Hardy, Absolution, Samoa Joe, Sanity, Big Cass, Asuka, Gallows & Anderson, Sheamus, Cesaro, R-Truth, Andrade “Cien” Almas

In this post, I’m going to dig into two superstars from each brand that I think have the most potential coming away from the Superstar Shakeup.

RAW – Bobby Roode

I’m putting Bobby Roode in a tie with another superstar that I’ll list soon as the ones that needed this switch the most. Bobby Roode’s main roster stint has been mediocre at best and he was definitely in need of a change of scenery. The time is NOW to turn him heel. The crowd will continue to chant “Glorious” whether he is face or heel – so put him in a position where he will thrive. Turning Roode heel will open the door to fresh feuds with the likes of Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, or even a reignited feud from TNA with Bobby Lashley!

SmackDown – Big Cass

A somewhat surprise sees Big Cass finally return from injury and on the blue brand. Big Cass was starting to get his singles career going shortly before his injury and it showed some potential. Although he still has some work to do, he has the potential to shine in the “land of opportunity”. A good big man replacement for Baron Corbin, Big Cass jumped right into the picture by targeting the biggest fan favorite on the roster, Daniel Bryan. I’m curious to see just how far Big Cass can go on SmackDown.

RAW – Drew McIntyre

The biggest surprise to me was not only Drew McIntyre’s debut this past Monday, but the fact that he is together with Dolph Ziggler! Dolph Ziggler has been compared to Shawn Michaels many times, and now he has his Diesel. The potential of this duo is awesome and I can’t wait to see how it goes! Hopefully creative doesn’t screw this one up..

SmackDown – Samoa Joe

As I had mentioned earlier, Bobby Roode was in a tie with someone for superstar that most needed the switch – and that someone is none other than Samoa Joe. As soon as I heard Joe’s music hit on SmackDown, I knew it was a MONEY pick. Joe’s character is the perfect heel for SmackDown. He already called out Daniel Bryan, Randy Orton, and AJ Styles! Those potential feuds are awesome and can really help propel Joe straight to the WWE Championship picture. There’s no doubt in my mind that he WILL be the champion before the end of this year.

Honorable RAW Mention: Sami Zayn

Honorable SmackDown Mention: Andrade “Cien” Almas
