Let me start off by saying that I am excited to watch the Greatest Royal Rumble next week. BUT I feel as if it has overshadowed regular business in WWE. Hasn’t it felt like this event has been promoted more than WrestleMania itself? On top of it all, the Superstar Shakeup somewhat has felt overshadowed as well. The Superstar Shakeup is supposed to be an exciting time of the year – a time where superstars switch brands and spice up some new feuds for the upcoming year. While all this may be happening, some matches for the Greatest Royal Rumble may have already been spoiled.

Here are five “feuds” that have been ruined by both the Superstar Shakeup and/or the promotion of the Greatest Royal Rumble:

1. IC Title Ladder Match: Seth Rollins (c) vs. Finn Balor vs. The Miz vs. Samoa Joe

  • With The Miz & Samoa Joe moving over to SmackDown, you’ve got to think that either Seth Rollins will retain or Finn Balor will capture the gold. I’d be very surprised to see the IC Title move over to SmackDown, unless they’re planning on having Jeff Hardy quickly drop his newly won US Title back to Jinder Mahal.

2. US Title: Jeff Hardy (c) vs. Jinder Mahal

  • Same reasoning as above. Unless they’re planning on swapping the US Title exclusively over to RAW and the IC Title exclusively to SmackDown, then you can expect to see the newest SmackDown superstar, Jeff Hardy, retain in this one.

3. RAW Tag Team Titles: The Bar vs. Bray Wyatt & Matt Hardy

  • I fully expected to see Bray Wyatt & Matt Hardy capture the tag team gold once they became a team and would’ve picked them to win this match either way. But now that Sheamus and Cesaro have moved over to SmackDown, it would just make NO sense whatsoever to have them win here.

Stepping away from the Greatest Royal Rumble for a moment – there are also two feuds that are completely thrown out the window now due to the Superstar Shakeup…

4. Ronda Rousey & Natalya vs. Sonya Deville & Mandy Rose

  • This seemed like the easiest booking based on the last couple of weeks. Ronda Rousey needs a new feud since the one with Stephanie & Triple H is seemingly done. She’s has been butting heads with Absolution, and saved her friend & newest RAW superstar, Natalya, this past week. Easy booking – tag team match and have Natalya turn heel on Ronda. While I still think the latter will end up happening, I would’ve liked to see the tag team match first, which probably isn’t going to happen now that Sonya Deville & Mandy Rose have been moved over to SmackDown.

And last, but not least…

5. Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe

  • Coming off the heels of the upcoming Greatest Royal Rumble PPV, Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe will compete in a completely pointless match at Backlash. Joe has been trash talking Reigns for the last two weeks, but now is exclusively team blue. IF Roman can finally dethrone the beast in Saudi Arabia, these two could’ve had a great feud for the Universal Title heading into the summer.

Aside from the 3 potentially spoiled matches at the Greatest Royal Rumble, and the other 2 feuds that had some potential, I’m geniunely excited to see the new feuds that will develop on RAW and SmackDown following Backlash.
