Pretty Little Liars

Pretty Little Liars is in its last episodes before coming to an end, so it’s time for them to start tying up loose ends and giving us all the answers we’ve been looking for. This week’s episode dropped more than one bomb on us, which is probably why the next episode won’t be for two weeks. They know we’ll need time to recover from these shocking moments.

5. Spencer’s dad has been looking for Mary Drake

In last week’s episode, Spencer’s mother said that her father wasn’t home yet because there was passport trouble and he was closing some business deal. After snooping through his suitcase, Spencer discovers he’s actually been home for a couple of days, but has been working with and investigator to find Mary Drake. He also reveals that he knew about Charlotte, Mary’s first child AKA the original A.

4. Sydney is working with A.D.

While we all knew Sydney was shady from day one, I think we were all a little shocked to when we found out she was working with A.D. personally. It seems that she upgraded from being Jenna’s lap dog to being in cahoots with the big bad A. She offers to let Aria join the “winning team” in exchange for her getting out of the sick game A.D. is playing with the girls.

3. Ted is Charlotte’s father

Pastor Ted, who used to date Hanna’s mom hasn’t been on the show for a while, so we were just as shocked as Hanna was when while she was knocking on doors looking for Mary Drake she came across her mom’s ex boyfriend. It was also pretty shocking when after Hanna and Spencer left it was revealed that Mary was hiding out at Ted’s house. But nothing was moreĀ surprising than Ted revealing that he is the father of the late Charlotte DiLaurentis and that he’s known the whole time.

2. Mary killed Jessica DiLaurentis

In season five, Jessica’s body was discovered in the Hastings backyard and ever since then, her murder has gone unsolved. It was thought at first that A had killed Jessica, but Charlotte revealed that she was the only one who ever cared about her and she would have never killed her. The mystery of who killed Jessica has been put on the back burner, until now. Spencer’s father revealed that the night Jessica was murdered, Mary had come to not only see Spencer, but also take revenge on her sister for continually ruining her life. Since Mary herself hasn’t confessed to the murder, it’s not clear whether or not Peter is telling the truth.

1. Alison’s baby is not actually hers

This one was a real doozy. This episode it was Alison’s turn to play the game and she was forced to make a registry for her baby. After the horrible experience of that the woman helping her at the store gives her a bag claiming its a “personalized gift from the donor”. She pulls out a necklace that reads “Emily”. It takes all but a second for Alison to put two and two together. In the previous season Emily sold her eggs to make some money and A.D. stole those eggs and apparently used to them to inseminate Alison. Before finding this out, Alison had decided to terminate the pregnancy, but now that she knows she’s not in fact the mother, she and Emily have a lot to figure out.

Pretty Little Liars returns Tuesday May, 23rd on Freeform.
