A Dog's purpose

A few months ago I was given a book by W. Bruce Cameron called “A Dog’s Life”. This was the basis for the new movie, “A Dog’s Purpose“, which is set to hit theaters January 27.

The book and movie differ slightly. In the book the dog’s re-incarnated lives center around mostly Ethan which the dog calls his boy and in later life Clarity also known as C.J., Ethan’s granddaughter. I believe in the book the dog has seven lives before getting his final angel wings.

In the film its re-titled “A Dog’s Purpose”. The main differences is owners, it follows different lifetimes as other people’s dogs outside of Ethan’s family.

The movie and book do keep true to the message. Dogs and all animals are gifts. They aren’t just friends, pets or companions, but earth angels that guide us. Sometimes protecting and giving joy and teaching us valuable life lessons.

It’s a family friendly movie starring Dennis Quaid. If you’re an animal lover get out to the movie theater and go see it. Be warned there will be tears.
