A flexible phone?

You ever just want to fold your phone in half, without breaking the screen? Well in roughly five years that will be a reality!

Researchers at Queen’s University have recently developed  the worlds first full-color, high-resolution flexible smartphone. It has been called ReFlex, it is a smartphone that can literally be bent in half and not break. When reading an e-book if you bend it to the right it will turn the page. While playing Angry Birds you can aim by bending the phone.

It is designed to help the user have a kinetic experience, the phone generates small vibrations that simulate friction. These vibrations mean that ReFlex can produce a very realistic simulation of the real-life version of the object on-screen.

The team from Queen’s University stated “As the rubber band expands, users experience vibrations that simulate those of a real stretching rubber band. When released, the band snaps, sending a jolt through the phone and sending the bird flying across the screen.”

This is the experience you could have when playing the game Angry Birds in about five years as the team think that it won’t be long before products like ReFlex will be available for sale.

Hopefully the next thing we see is a holographic phone because on that day my wallet will be empty!
