To say that Cardinals running back Adrian Peterson had a bad game last night would be an understatement. Peterson had one of the worst games ever.Adrian Peterson

Peterson gained just 29 yards on 21 carries against the Seahawks, making for just the seventh time in NFL history that a player has finished a game with more than 20 carries and less than 30 yards.

And Peterson’s game was even worse than those numbers suggest: He also lost a fumble on the Cardinals’ first offensive play, and he was later tackled in the end zone for a safety.

As I have said all season, Peterson is washed up and done. He does not help any NFL team as their starting running back. Sure, he’s had a nice game or so with the Cards, but I would say that had more to do with the opposing defenses deficiencies rather than Peterson being the reason behind it.

Peterson has had a Hall-of-Fame career, but that doesn’t mean he should be held in that kind of regard as he closes out that career. He is nothing more than a backup running back (and a not very good one) at this point in 2017.
