All New Wolverine#6 Review
The first story arc for All New Wolverine has concluded and it ended on a pretty good note. The whole premise of this arc is a revenge story where they want to kill the guys that did bad things to them, but ultimately choose the moral high ground. This book surprisingly does both, where Bell kills Mooney and Gabby doesn’t kill Chandler. I like how Gabby and Bell are such opposites with Bell being older and more serious while Gabby is still young and more child like. This really sets them apart from one another and gives us some nice characterization.
I also really like how Laura was written. She was in grief when watching one of her clones die, but she still thinks like a tactician. I also like the new direction the series is going in with Wolverine looking after Gabby and helping her with her troubled past just like Logan did for her.
The art after five issues has won me over. While I think Lopez’s art is kind of plain he makes up for it with the emotions shown on all of the characters faces which are really well drawn and I feel the emotion there projecting. If we keep getting more stories like this then Laura Kinny has proven herself to be called Wolverine.
