ArDarius Stewart-WR-Alabama
Size: 6’0 204lbs

ArDarius Stewart

Strengths:

  • Decent speed
  • Active in running game
  • Catch radius
  • Productive in run-oriented offense

Analysis: Alabama’s passing offense ranked 87th in the country in 2016 with only 210.3 yards per contest, but that’s no reflection on ArDarius Stewart’s talent. He can stretch the field with his deep play speed. On-tape, I was surprised how often he would beat corners deep, showing that his breakaway speed is very deceiving. His catch radius is one of the best in this draft. He is a willing run blocker and showed a grit to him when taking on defenders in the running game. After being graded as a potential second-round pick by the NFL Draft Advisory Committee, Stewart decided to declare for the draft to take care of his two children and the rest of his family.

Weaknesses:

  • Ball tracking
  • Focus drops
  • Effort on every play

Analysis: ArDarius Stewart was a major factor in Alabama’s offense, but at times when the play call was designed away from Stewart he would become lackadaisical in his play not even moving five yards off the line of scrimmage. That type of lack of effort will not be tolerated at the next level. Stewart’s hands are solid, but he struggles with focus drops, dropping balls he should easily catch without a defender around him. He has a 34-inch vertical jump at the combine which was a figure that proved to me he struggles high-pointing balls and catching them at their peak.

NFL Comparison: Corey Coleman

Draft Projection: Round 2-3
