Batman V Superman

This morning I woke up and began my day as I usually do, scrolling through Twitter. I follow quite a few people who are excited for the upcoming WB/DC film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. I saw several posts which alarmed me and now has raised my concerns that someone or several people are behind a campaign to smear this movie. One of the tweets led me to a Reddit post from LegendsVII also known as Kal on Twitter. He goes into great detail about how there are several posts on Twitter which paint Batman v Superman in a negative light. If you go to Twitter and search for ‘Batman v Superman rain’ you will get several posts with this message “The Batman v Superman movie will be a two hour tracking sho of every single DC charactel crying in the rain.

The posts go all the way back to July 2015 according to @JaeRoar. He even posted a YouTube video talking about the tweets. I will admit that I have never seen this level of hate for a movie, ever. Some people are claiming Marvel/Disney are spreading bots to slander the movie but I do not think Marvel would go this far. Marvel has such a great reputation that they do not fear WB/DC at all. In fact Marvel would have to make a movie so bad, like Fantastic 4 bad, before people would start to question their movies.  But the evidence shows that something is out to slander this film. Suicide Squad is not getting this level of hate so it seems this is more geared towards possibly Snyder than it is WB.

When trailer #2 dropped showing Doomsday it was met with criticism which was fine because I can see where some people would be upset them showing a huge reveal plus killing the Batman v Superman buzz with them showing teamed up. But the recent trailer was so amazing that we all felt the hype was back. On the same day the hype was back, we get word from Drew McWeeny that Warners is worried and he even said he would bet that Justice League would be pushed back and Snyder would be off the project. All the hype gone!! Then we got the great news that Justice League starts filming in April 2016 and hype was enormous. WB then announces it will release an R rated Blu-Ray edition and the tabloids took this as its copying Deadpool and Superman should never be R rated. Great news once again turned into negative hate. Deadline reported yesterday about studio execs projecting a $100-140M opening weekend for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. First off this is a huge guess from Deadline. It’s not fact since tracking does not even start until next Thursday. But this did not stop sites from turning this into more negative news. Umberto Gonzalez of Heroic Hollywood has stated via Periscope that he has never seen so much hate for a film. It is shocking the level of criticism this film has gotten and now we have proof that there are tweets being spread around putting the film in an even more negative light.

All this could be a collective effort from some angry fanboys wanting to get attention but we can admit that as this movie gets closer to release, we are seeing more and more negative information than we are positive. I can only hope that we get some excellent screening reviews in the coming weeks so it will restore viewers and fans faith that this movie will be the huge success we all want it to be.
