All Army athletic teams have been known as the ‘Black Knights’ since the early days of 1999. Not exactly a legendary stint. For the better part/all of those 15ish years have been filled with a lot of losing, on the court and field (certainly not off). So a change was due…

In a press release Monday, the Army athletic department revealed that they, “in partnership with Nike, will introduce a new brand and identity system that will include new logos, lettering and numerals showcased by all 28 athletic programs on Monday, April 13.”

If reports are true the Army athletic department, along with Nike will reveal a new brand, that essentially will be the old brand re-done. The Black Knights will be no longer, and Army will once again be known as the ‘Cadets’. The name they had before the change in 1999. Y2K messed everyone up.
