Sports are amazing.

They provide entertainment and inspiration. On top of that, the “truth” that a sport can flip with the blink of an eye.

The Golden State Warriors put up the best season in NBA history with their 73-9 record. They made themselves the team to beat. They had the defending MVP, who played even better. This propelled them to an almost untouchable level. It seemed that they could shoot down all of that talk about luck being the reason they won. Even when Curry missed much of the first two series due to injuries, the Warriors still were playing above their opponents. They were a juggernaut.

Until they met the Thunder.

The entire world seemed to forget the season that the Warriors put together. One loss made them vulnerable. That one loss at home, that one loss after leading at the half, that ONE loss turned their season upside down. Just like that, the Thunder were the favorites to win Game 2. Even though the Warriors have not lost back-to-back games all season. The juggernaut became the underdog.

The first half of Game 2 proved to be a battle for both teams. Oklahoma City was able to gain their first lead of the game late in the half. The Warriors managed to build a little run to end the half, but that was just the beginning.

That one loss that made the Warriors a focal point for a new reason was forgotten in a 12 minute span.

The 3rd quarter saw Steph Curry ignite for 17 points, including 13 straight. It saw the Thunder become flustered and lose their composure with the ball and on defense. That 3rd quarter restored the Warriors to juggernaut status.

The lead turned into a 27-point victory. This one victory restored the aura that surrounded this Warriors team all season.

The question is once again… Can they be stopped?
