‘Batman’ Gets Rewrite from Chris Terrio
A couple of days ago it was reported that Ben Affleck (Batman) would be stepping down as director for The Batman but would stay on as producer, writer, and star. Today is was reported by Deadline that Chris Terrio has turned in his rewrite of the script. It was reported earlier that both Ben and Geoff Johns were writing the script together. With the news that Terrio has rewritten the script it could mean that WB was not happy with the script Ben and Geoff wrote or that Ben simply handed the script over to Chris for rewrites.
Ben trusts Chris as the two have worked together on the Oscar winning film, Argo. Chris also wrote the upcoming Justice League and co-wrote Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Reports did not say if this was a partial rewrite or a full rewrite. Conflicting reports from Ben as far as the script goes made fans wonder if the script was done or nearly done or if there was no script at all.
Since Ben stepped down as director, Warner Bros. is in pursuit of a new director to work with Ben on the film. If the script is indeed done and the only thing left to do is a find a director, hopefully shooting can begin soon. Joe Manganiello has signed on to play the villain Deathstroke as well as J.K. Simmons to play Commissioner Gordon. No other details have been released at this time but we are all on the edge of our seats hoping this movie gets made.
