LaQuan McGowan, who originally was an offensive lineman recruit to Art Briles Baylor squad, threw out the first pitch at the Teas Rangers game over the weekend. McGowan threw the pitch well for his size, 50 cent makes McGowan look like Nolan Ryan.

McGowan burst onto the scene last season when he caught a touchdown pass in Baylor’s tough Cotton Bowl loss to Michigan State. In the offseason, Briles moved the former o-lineman to tight end full-time and he has since added another thirty pounds to weigh in at 410 (he was 380 when he caught the TD pass). I’m not so sure how he will fit in to Baylor’s spread-system, but he will be a joy to watch this upcoming football season.
