Joe Mixon
(USA TODAY Sports)

Another week, another injury in the NFL. This time around the Cincinnati Bengals will be without their lead back Joe Mixon for an undetermined amount of time.

On Saturday, the second year back will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery to clean up his injured knee from Thursday night, against the Baltimore Ravens. Mixon went down early in the game only to return. He would leave again, and return once Joe Flacco and the Baltimore offense started to look comfortable making their comeback. Mixon finished with a stat line of 21 carries for 84 yards and one reception for three yards.

Now Cincinnati will turn the ball towards Giovanni Bernard, who has proven himself to be a capable back in this league in the past. A return date won’t be announced until Mixon has gone through the procedure. The Bengals should be fine for now without Mixon, but his big-play-capability will be missed on the offense.
