Bucknell vs TCU Preview
(Bucknell Athletics)

In the semifinals of the Diamond Head Classic the Bucknell Bison (5-5) are looking for a resume-boosting non-conference win over the TCU Horned Frogs (9-1).

TCU comes in winners of six straight, highlighted by last night’s 82-57 blowout of Charlotte.

Kouat Noi had 15 points, Jaylen Fisher added 14, Desmond Bane scored 10 and Alex Robinson had 11 assists, tying the tournament’s single-game record. The senior, who had 84 assists in one season at Texas A&M, has 506 at TCU — becoming just the third player in program history with at least 500 career assists.

It took Bucknell all 40-minutes to beat their first round opponent.

Bruce Moore matched his career high for the second straight game with 18 points, including the go-ahead tip-in with 1:08 remaining in the game, helping Bucknell to an 84-82 win over Rhode Island.

Nate Sestina logged his fourth double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Jimmy Sotos had 16 points and six assists for the Bison.

This matchup will be the first meeting ever between the two programs. TCU head coach Jamie Dixon is 38-5 against non-conference opponents during his tenure at the school.

TCU will win if they out-rebound Bucknell. TCU out-rebounded Charlotte 34-29 and improved to 7-1 this season and 49-13 under Dixon when out-rebounding its opponent.
