During this segment I will countdown the 5 players that I believe will make a contribution to the 2016 Buffalo Bills. This is a countdown to training camp with one player released per week. My first contestant is wide receiver and 2016 6th round draft choice Kolby Listenbee.

Buffalo Bills

Listenbee’s strengths are known— he is FAST recording a 4.34 40-yard dash at his pro day and becoming a two-time All-American in track while at Texas Christian University. Listenbee has size (listed at 6’2) for a man of his speed and blends his speed well with physicality on a defender. The current wide receiver situation on the Buffalo Bills can be regarded as a good one or a bad one depending on who you ask. With number one wide-out Sammy Watkins on crutches to start training camp, Chris Hogan taking his talents to New England, simply put, there is a wide open competition for the slot receiver job between Listenbee, Greg Little, Greg Salas and the lone Olympian on the Buffalo Bills Marquise Goodwin who could be heading to Rio this Summer.

While it is anybody’s guess who will win the competition that will be proven come training camp and pre-season, but what I do know is that Listenbee offers the Bills something that the franchise has always liked. Versatility. Listenbee has natural speed, but one concern that I do have is his lack of route running ability which means that it could take him a couple of years to find his footing as an all around wide-out. But luckily with his speed, I believe Listenbee should be one of the first options for returning punts and kickoffs. Although the kickoff in today’s NFL has been completely neutralized due to the league taking extreme safety measures there are plenty of way’s for Listenbee to fit in Greg Roman’s offense and the Buffalo Bills Special Teams unit. As the season wears on we will see Listenbee as a more polished receiver. Add in the fact that Tyrod Taylor loves throwing the deep ball, Listenbee alongside Sammy Watkins is the most pure vertical threat that the Bills currently have.
