Anthony Johnson Buffalo

The Buffalo Bulls are not known as a premier school in terms of getting their players drafted into the NFL. Sure there have been some success stories, namely Khalil Mack and some lesser known alums like Branden Oliver or James Starks, but the next few years the Bulls will be putting some talent into the NFL.

The 2019 NFL Draft will feature Bulls WR Anthony Johnson and the 2020 NFL Draft will likely feature his quarterback Tyree Jackson, who could be the first overall pick. For now we will focus on Johnson…

The redshirt junior transferred to UB after playing at Iowa Western Community College. He was Jackson’s primary target last season hauling in 76 receptions for 1,356 yards and 14 touchdowns.

He graded as one of PFF’s top college football receivers last season:

CBS Sports has Johnson as their second-ranked wide receiver and 12th overall player in the 2019 NFL Draft. CBS also has UB linebacker Khalil Hodge as their No.62 overall prospect, showing just how much talent this Bulls team has.

At 6’1 207lbs, Johnson has the ideal size you look for in a top receiving prospect. He has been clocked at 4.40 in the 40-yard dash and has the ball skills prevalent in the best receivers in the pros.

The Bulls have been a middle-of-the-pack team in the MAC Conference the last few seasons, but look for an uptick in success in the 2018 campaign with players like Johnson and Jackson leading the offense.
