Canelo vs Chavez Jr breakdown and prediction
Canelo vs Chavez Jr
A big fight is going down this weekend in the boxing world with two of Mexico’s elite fighters Canelo Alvarez and Julio Cesar Chavez going toe-to-toe. On Saturday May 6th at the T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas millions will gather to watch this straight up war. This fight is as personal as it can get. This has been a rivalry building for years. Chavez Sr. not only a Mexican legend, but a boxing legend, has said that Canelo Alvarez is popular here in the states, but his status is nowhere near his son in Mexico, and you got both guys trading smack talk on and off camera. I absolutely can not wait for this fight! Also there’s no titles on the line here, it’s all pride.
Trust me I know how it is coming from Mexican/Hispanic cultural and there’s nothing more Mexicans love more than a good fight. Especially when pride and bragging rights are on the line. Canelo comes in with a record of 48-1-1 (48 KO) and is on a win streak of 6. He stands 5’9 with a reach of 70 1\2 and is yet to hit his full prime at 26. Canelo clearly has the skill advantage here, the speed is more experienced in bigger fights if you ask me.
Chavez is the bigger guy in this fight he stands 6’1 with a reach of 73″. His record coming into the fight is 50-2-1 (32 KO) and has won 8 out of his last 10 fights. One of the main concerns here for Chavez is that he hasn’t had to worry about dropping weight below 168 pounds in nearly five years. Not to mention both fighters face a whopping $1 million dollar penalty if they miss the 164.5 lbs mark on Friday so coming in shape is clearly a key point not only for the fight, but for their pockets.
Chavez is a good fighter, but he isn’t great. Chavez Jr is a seasoned fighter, but it’s his dads shadow he’s living in, but his could be the fight to put him into elite status if he runs through Canelo. Alvarez on the other hand has it all. The speed, ability and mindset to walkout victorious. Chavez Jr obviously has a chance to win, his size overall is key to he fight, but I expect Canelo to go into this fight out smarting and picking his shots on Chavez Jr and I’m calling it right now Chavez Jr is going to be gassed by the ninth round and that’s when Canelo knocks him out to put this rivalry to rest.https://www.myfantasysportstalk.com/canelo-vs-chavez-jr-breakdown-and-prediction/https://i0.wp.com/www.myfantasysportstalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/canelochavez.jpg?fit=785%2C442&ssl=1https://i0.wp.com/www.myfantasysportstalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/canelochavez.jpg?resize=150%2C150&ssl=1BoxingCombat SportsRecent PostsBoxing,Canelo vs Chavez JrCanelo vs Chavez Jr A big fight is going down this weekend in the boxing world with two of Mexico's elite fighters Canelo Alvarez and Julio Cesar Chavez going toe-to-toe.
