Champions League Group A Prediction
With the Champions League draw now set, let’s breakdown the eight groups and see who could advance to the Round of 16.
Group A: Atletico Madrid, Bourissa Dortmund, AS Monaco, and Club Brugge
Atletico Madrid have the best squad in this group and look to be the most likely to advance as the top spot. Sporting Antoine Griezmann as their star scorer and playmaker, the company behind the Frenchman is plenty to counter their biggest threat in Bourissa Dortmund.
Dortmund aren’t as strong as some would say. They certainly post a good squad that should finish second in the table. Defensively they are a concern as some names departed from their club like Sokratis. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang no longer plays for the club and Marco Reus with all his talent can’t be what they need. Christian Pulisic is definitely a boost but not enough to jolt the team ahead of Madrid.
If AS Monaco still had a Kylian Mbappe and Fabinho this would be a conversation of a fight among three clubs for the top two spots as this club, with their former competitive nature, would’ve challenged heavily for a chance at an easy draw in the Round of 16. With just Thomas Lemar and Youri Tielemanns to show star potential talent, Monaco will be missing out on another Champions League run.
Club Brugge come out of Belgium and in not much of a place to challenge for a spot, they’ll finish last.
Stay tuned for the next seven groups.
