Champions League Group D Prediction
With the Champions League underway, let’s continue our group stage predictions. Group D, now this one is a toss-up.
Group D: Locomotiv Moskva, FC Porto, FC Schalke, Galatasaray
This is without doubt one of the most underpowered groups the Champions League has seen for some time. There’s no reason that any of these clubs could be doubted to advance. If these clubs were stacked by rating of squad, FC Schalke would be the strongest with Locomotiv Moskva being the weakest. Things will depend on what each club can get out of each other, but most likely Schalke and Galatasaray will advance to the Round of 16.
Porto just don’t have much going for them as some of their raw young talent departed for new clubs this year, making their chances of advancing at best to the second spot in the group table. Lokomotiv Moskva just don’t look strong enough to win the group but maybe a second spot could light up but the chances are slim, especially with the variable that they could easily be beaten as they could win, there’s no clear dominate team to compare.
Stay tuned for Group E.
