Champions League Group F Prediction
There’s already been an upset in this group but this group is pretty straightforward of who will have best chance to finish first and second.
Group F: Manchester City, Olympique Lyonnais, Shakhtar Donetsk, Hoffenheim
Manchester City are the most dominant team in the group. It was surprising to see Lyon take them down 2-1 in the first matchup but Lyon are a threat. Nevertheless, City have such a deep squad and that should make the difference to help to a first place finish. Plus, after their embarrassing exit last season to a lower team, City have a chip on their shoulder to do better, so a team like Lyon might not have a favorable result in the second leg.
Lyon caught Man City on a bad day with the 2-1 victory. Their team really bounced back last season in Ligue 1, with players like Memphis Depay and Nabil Fekir putting in great offensive efforts to propel the French club into the Champions League. They have strong team and their win over City proves that, yet it doesn’t seem like a team to finish top of the group, but second for sure.
Shakatar Donetsk are a team that have a knack for causing trouble in group stages. Don’t be surprised to see them scratch and claw for a few surprise points. Second is unrealistic but not completely impossible for this club. This is another club with young potential talent for bigger clubs to poach, so that’s worth noting.
Hoffenheim is another club that’s capable of staving off a couple of points but not the strongest contender for first let alone second place. Still this team has the potential to cause some trouble, it’s worth keeping an eye on this group.
Stay tuned for Group G.
