Champions League Semifinal and Winner Prediction
What an amazing quarterfinal! Barcelona eliminated by Roma and Manchester City knocked out by Liverpool. Real Madrid advance on a controversial penalty scored by Cristiano Ronaldo and Bayern Munich have completely dominated their opponents in this competition. But with the semi final matchups drawn up, it’s time to predict the winners moving onto the Champions League final and who will ultimately win it all.
Semi-final Matchup 1: Real Madrid vs. FC Bayern Munich
Winner: Real Madrid
Bayern Munich are without doubt Madrid’s match in team quality, strength, and coaching. However, Bayern have injuries in certain positions that will make overcoming Madrid’s attacking power difficult. Midfielder Arturo Vidal is having surgery, which is the most significant of Bayern’s injuries at present in the midfield. Madrid will lead by Cristiano Ronaldo’s example as he’s expected to spearhead the attack on the left. The backup he has around him make Madrid the better team in this matchup.
Semi-final Matchup 2: Liverpool vs AS Roma
Liverpool stunned the Premier League champions Manchester City in the quarterfinals and have gotten arguably the easiest opponent left in the competition. AS Roma however are no ordinary underdog. Roma stunned FC Barcelona, a near 100% favorite to advance past Roma. Despite the great story, Roma don’t have the team to beat Liverpool coming off a leg against Barcelona. Mohamed Salah is arguably the Premier League Player of the Year and a possible candidate for the Ballon D’ Or. As Liverpool’s star player, he will carry this team to the Champions League final.
Predicted Champions League Final: Real Madrid vs Liverpool
Winner: Real Madrid
If this is the matchup we get, this would be a match we’d want. The aforementioned Ballon D’ Or candidate Mohamed Salah, going against the ultimate favorite in Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo. Madrid would go into this matchup the favorites as Liverpool don’t have the strength in roster to match. Still, this is an enticing matchup that will have scoring, but ultimately, Real Madrid will be the 2018 UEFA Champions League winners.
