Shohei Ohtani is living up to the unreal expectations put on him in his inaugural season in the big leagues.

His approach at the plate is better than I thought it would be and as a hitter, Ohtani has six homers, 17 RBIs and a .321/.367/.619 slash line.

After his latest start on Sunday where he struck out nine batters in 7.2 IP en route to a 4-2 victory over the Rays– he’s now 4-1 with a 3.35 ERA on the mound. He has 51 strikeouts in 39 2/3 innings.

A lot of his success on the mound can be attributed to his nasty splitter. Hitters simply cannot hit it….

Check out this video of his splitter here:

Shohei Ohtani’s splitter is the real deal, and so is Shohei.
