Christian Hackenberg
(USA TODAY Sports)

A startling move in the Jets camp as the QB competition has been declared open. The New York Jets selected QB Christian Hackenberg out of Penn State in what looks to be an indication that Ryan Fitzpatrick may not return to the team.

At 6’4” and 223 lbs he’s a solid sized quarterback with pocket presence and grew up in a┬ápro-style system. He has great arm strength and was Penn State’s all-time leading passer. He’s a project for the team but he’s expected to become a solid starter in the NFL in a short time.
