The Cleveland Browns traded out of the 2nd overall pick a week ago. They obviously were not overwhelmed by Goff or Wentz. They took the picks, moved back six spots, took some of the Titans picks, moved back seven more spots, then selected WR Corey Coleman with the 15th overall pick.

Coleman is 5’11 burner from Baylor. His list of achievements is half-a-page long and include being a two-time All-American, and reigning Biletnikoff Award winner as the top receiver in college football.

The Browns think they have their QB now in Robert Griffin III, but they are losing all the talent on the outside. RG3 will no longer have Dwayne Bowe, Travis Benjamin, and most likely Josh Gordon. So getting a top talent receiver in Cleveland was a priority.

The Browns got a gift from Philadelphia when the Eagles sent five draft picks to Cleveland for the right to draft Carson Wentz at #2. The Browns received Philly’s 8th overall pick, their 3rd and 4th round picks, next year’s 1st round pick, and a 2nd round pick in 2018. This is something the Browns have done right. If they draft right, they should have a significant increase in overall talent.

This may not be what Browns fans were wanting, or expecting, however, it’s not a horrible choice on paper. I may have went with getting RG3 some protection, and drafted OT Taylor Decker from Ohio State, who Detroit drafted with the very next pick.

But the Browns definitely need some talent and flash. Something to get the fans excited about the new season, again. I am going to be optimistic and say this was a good pick. The Browns have a lot of picks, and a lot of potential left in this draft.

The Browns were 3-13 last season. But, now they have a new GM (a baseball guy), a new head coach (again), and a new franchise QB (again). They also have a slew of picks to start the building process. Will Paul DePodesta finally be able to have the magic touch no GM in Cleveland
