McGregor was set to face Nate Diaz to headline UFC 200 in what was going to be the largest MMA event in the world.
McGregor was ringside at the recent event that saw a fighter die due to the injuries he sustained in the cage, this could have had a massive psychological effect on McGregor and could be one of the reasons for his early retirement.
As it stands this News in neither confirmed or denied but one has to question where McGregor’s head is at.
Well known, and reliable, MMA journalist Ariel Helwani has tweeted
Multiple sources are adamant at this time that McGregor’s tweet isn’t a joke, troll job or hoax of any kind. Reason(s) behind it is unclear.

Adding to the fuel that this may be legitimate. Signs are pointing towards the death of Joao Carvalho had a major effect on McGregor, who stated that he was in Venezuela perhaps visiting the family of the deceased fighter.
