Countdown to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
The countdown to the one of the most anticipated and hyped movies on the year is upon us, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. As of today we are 7 days and less than 24 hours away from the first fan screenings. Ben Affleck (Batman), Henry Cavill (Superman), and Zack Snyder have been on a press tour in China heavily promoting the film. During the tour there was some brief new dialogue from Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) which can be seen here
As marketing continues to ramp up overseas, we were treated to one of the best TV spots yet. A new Korean TV spot shows us a little more of the fight between Batman and Superman as well as focusing on Superman in some new scenes.
The footage does not enter into spoiler territory much and just really expands a little bit beyond what we have seen already. I do like that it focuses a tad more on Superman and we also get some nice shots of Amy Adams (Lois Lane) and Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman). It is hard to believe that over 900 days ago we were all waiting for news about the Man of Steel sequel during the San Diego Comic Con but instead we were treated with news that we would FINALLY be seeing Batman and Superman share the big screen together. For many fans, including myself, this is a dream come true! I am one of the lucky few who will be seeing it on March 21st – which cannot come soon enough. I am hyped beyond measure for this movie and only hope that it will deliver as promised. It has been a long road with many ups and downs for DC fans. But that all comes to a head in 7 days. In 7 days we will know if this truly was the greatest gladiator match in history or if this is just another good comic-book movie.
To tie the fans over, fellow contributor Harry Scott has put together a very nice list of ‘What to watch before Batman v Superman’, which I suggest readers check out. Man of Steel for sure is a movie you should check out before watching Batman v Superman and also if you are not a fan of Ben Affleck or you’re on the fence about him playing Batman, I suggest you take some time to watch ‘The Town’, ‘Argo’, and ‘Gone Girl’. These movies should renew your faith in him or make you appreciate his work.
Warner Bros and DC have been promoting the movie with the slogan #WhoWillWin, in the end it will be the fans who win. Comment below and tell us how you feel going into the movie. Are you excited? Nervous? Are you over-hyped or are you keeping your feelings in check until you see the movie?
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens March 25th, 2016.
