Strengths:

  • Highly competitive
  • Has the vision of a RB
  • Willing to work middle of field
  • Strong hands
  • Wins contested catches
  • Body control
  • Elite returner

Weaknesses:

  • Durability concerns
  • Can he effectively beat press coverage?
  • Hip tightness limits stride length
  • Catch radius is lacking
  • Want more finesse in routes

Analysis: Samuel is a football player plain and simple. When he is on the field (which has come to be a rarity) he is a hard-nosed player willing to do whatever it takes for his team. He has strong hands that can win in contested catch scenarios, but with serious durability concerns–he may not be able to consistently stay on the field. He is a gamer who thrives once the ball is in his hands and will give a team an elite returner. I see him primarily working from the slot at the next level and if he stays healthy he can be a playmaker.

Size: 5’11 214lbs

Draft Rank: Top 8 WR

NFL Comparison: Willie Snead

Draft Projection: Round 2-3
