Detroit Red Wings re-signs Riley Sheahan and Brian Lashoff
On Thursday, the Detroit Red Wings announced that they have re-signed center Riley Sheahan and defenseman Brian Lashoff. Sheahan is 24 years old and signed a two-year deal for $4.15 million after coming off his highest scoring season in the NHL. Brian Lashoff is 25 years old and signed a one-year for $650K.
What Has Sheahan Done For the Red Wings?
Sheahan has been in the organization since 2011 as he played for the Grand Rapids Griffins after being a first round pick for the team in 2010. From the 2011-2012 season until the 2013-2014 Sheahan would flip time between the Griffins and the Red Wings before staying up in Detroit in the 2014-2015 season. Since sticking with Detroit in the 2013-2014 season Sheahan has scored 36 goals, 49 assists for 85 points and in the playoffs he has gotten two goals and one assist for three points. Sheahan is a third line center who is looking to be a future center of this team. He has been a solid contributor for the team, scoring a career high 14 goals last season, and he looks to contribute even more as his career continues in Detroit.
What Has Lashoff Done For the Red Wings?
Lashoff has been everywhere and anywhere in the game of hockey, playing for five teams from the NHL to the ECHL and he has yet in his career to score double-digit goals. In his three years he spent on the Red Wings, Lashoff has gotten two goals, 11 assists for 13 points. After spending three years in Detroit, Lashoff was sent down to Grand Rapids and has been there the past two seasons. He had his second best year with one goal and 15 assists for 16 points, so Detroit doesn’t seem to have given up on him yet. The question is if he comes up to the Red Wings or if he stays down in Grand Rapids for another year. Preseason will probably determine that as there are five defenseman spots on the team filled right now, leaving one available to fight for.https://www.myfantasysportstalk.com/detroit-red-wings-re-signs-riley-sheahan-and-brian-lashoff/https://i2.wp.com/www.myfantasysportstalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Kb4mV44n.jpeg?fit=400%2C400&ssl=1https://i2.wp.com/www.myfantasysportstalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Kb4mV44n.jpeg?resize=150%2C150&ssl=1HockeyNHLRecent PostsBrian Lashoff,Detroit Red Wings,Red Wings,Riley SheahanOn Thursday, the Detroit Red Wings announced that they have re-signed center Riley Sheahan and defenseman Brian Lashoff.
