Detroit Red Wings trade for Dylan Sadowy
On Thursday, the Detroit Red Wings made a trade for Dylan Sadowy from the San Jose Sharks for a third round pick in 2017. Detroit is looking for younger players as rumors are Drew Miller and Darren Helm will be on their way out and Sadowy is a young player, 20 years old, who can contribute in 2016.
Now I don’t believe Sadowy will get called straight up to the Red Wings, he will start out in Grand Rapids with the Griffins and after sometime, he could get called up to the NHL. Sadowy has impressed his past two years in the OHL, getting 74 points in 2014 and 75 in 2015. He scored 45 goals, got 25 assists, has a plus 17 rating and only having 65 penalty minutes in 64 games played between the Saginaw Spirit before being traded to the Barrie Colts in 2015.
Was Sadowy worth the pick?
Y.E.S. Sadowy was about to re-enter the NHL draft and he was projected as a first round pick after being drafted by the Sharks in the third round back in 2014. Sadowy has already signed his entry-level contract and he is what Detroit has been needing on offense. He is a left shooting power forward winger, and at 6’1″ he can be a grinder, scorer and keep nagging opposing teams. His effort on the ice is there, giving 100 percent all the time, no matter what the situation is. Sadowy was about to be available to all 30 teams again and could have been gone in the first or second round. Instead Detroit snagged him out of San Jose for the pick that San Jose used on him. So Detroit got a first round pick player for a third round pick. That sounds like a steal for the team and when you look at the left winger spots on the team right now, he has a chance to get some playing time. Henrik Zetterburg, Justin Abdelkader and Tomas Tatar are the locks for the first three lines. Teemu Pulkkinen and Drew Miller are the question marks that Sadowy will compete with. Miller might not be on the team next year, so Pulkkinen might be the only player he competes with. Pulkkinen will probably start the year on the fourth line, but if Sadowy can impress in Grand Rapids, he could get called up and get playing time.https://www.myfantasysportstalk.com/detroit-red-wings-trade-for-dylan-sadowy/https://i0.wp.com/www.myfantasysportstalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/Sadowy-Dylan-10-player-page.jpg?fit=480%2C600&ssl=1https://i0.wp.com/www.myfantasysportstalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/Sadowy-Dylan-10-player-page.jpg?resize=150%2C150&ssl=1HockeyNHLNHL DraftRecent PostsDetroit Red Wings, dylan sadowy,NHL,NHL Draft,NHL Trade, sadowy,San Jose SharksOn Thursday, the Detroit Red Wings made a trade for Dylan Sadowy from the San Jose Sharks for a third round pick in 2017.
