Yesterday, my social media feeds were filled with “reports” of Andrew Luck missing the first six games of the season due to his recovery from offseason surgery. My first thought was, wow that just doesn’t seem right.

GM Chris Ballard had previously stated that Andrew Luck would be activated from the PUP list prior to week one and George Bremer of the Anderson (Ind.) Herald Bulletin, says that assessment still stands.

It is not ideal for the Colts organization to have Luck miss all of Training Camp, but I’m 100% positive the team would rather have a rusty Luck than any other backup QB they might have on the roster.

I was able to speak with Gregg Doyel of the Indianapolis Star who recently wrote a column explaining why Luck needs to be selfish in his shoulder rehab, but he’s “not sure Luck has it in him to be selfish” pointing out that Luck will do whatever he can to be ready by week one.

So before you automatically assume that Luck is gone for the first six weeks, dig a little deeper than most of those “reporters” who have heard info from their “sources”.

Or do what I am doing—tell others Luck is going to miss the first six weeks of the season, drastically hurting his fantasy value so I can draft him in the later rounds.
