The Indianapolis Colts were shut down by the stifling Bills defense on Sunday and lost more than a week one game. Star receiver T.Y. Hilton injured his right knee, in what the team is describing as a bone bruise and possesses no structural damage. While that is good news for the team, Hilton will likely miss the Colts next game against the Jets on Monday night, and could miss one to two more depending on the severity of the bruise.

The Hilton injury means second-year wideout Donte Moncrief will step into a starting role opposite Andre Johnson. Moncrief was effective against the Bills catching six passes for 46 yards and scoring a touchdown. In his rookie season, Moncrief came on late snagging 32 balls for 444 yards and three TDs, but had two 100-yard outings when he stepped into a starting role last season.

While the matchup isn’t ideal in week two against a formidable Jets defense, Darrelle Revis will likely matchup against veteran Andre Johnson, leaving Moncrief teamed up against Cromartie or Skrine. The targets will be there for Moncrief to have a successful game, but do not rely on the second-year receiver after week two for consistent playing time. It is possible Hilton will only miss one game, relegating Moncrief back to his third receiver role. In daily fantasy leagues, Moncrief’s value will be high and should have a relatively lower cost to other higher profile players.

What do you think of Moncrief in week two? Does he hold value? Let me know in the comments below.
