On Friday night, Dynasty returned to the CW on its new night (as opposed to previously being on Wednesdays) where Cristal comes to terms with her kiss with Rick, Steven deals with the aftermath of Ted’s almost-suicidal jump, Fallon and Culhane uncover the why of Jeff’s plan, and Blake takes advantage of both Cristal and Fallon’s situations.

We find out pretty early on that the kiss between Cristal and Rick was a one-time thing but Rick definitely wants more from her and basically follows her around for the rest of the episode. Later, Blake finds out after Cristal tells him that Rick kissed her (which isn’t entirely true because she actually kissed him) and Blake tells her to get closer to him because he’s one of Jeff’s contacts. Now this happened before he finds out about Jeff’s scheming, but he’s still suspicious purely because he doesn’t trust the Colbys, especially now that Cecil is out of prison.

Ted, AKA Steven’s junkie ex-boyfriend is apparently alive after jumping out of the window and hitting his head pretty badly on the pavement. Steven gets caught up with PR stuff relating to his campaign by calling Ted his boyfriend and keeping Sam far away from all of it because it turns out that Sam is in the U.S illegally. Steven also deals with Ted’s religious and disapproving father while Ted is in a medically induced coma and manages to get back Sam’s earring back just as Ted wakes up with just enough brain damage for Steven to get away with a bogus story he tells Ted’s dad.

After getting engaged to Jeff last episode, Fallon discovers that Jeff’s been reading her email and anyone else’s on the Carrington home network with the thumb drive he gave her at the beginning of the season. Then, Jeff invites Fallon to family dinner for her to meet Cecil, for the second time, in a different environment. At this dinner, Cecil tries his best to keep his cool but gets angry during dessert and tells everyone at the table, Culhane included (as Monica’s date), that Blake slept with his wife and that he was the reason he went to prison.

Cecil didn’t say anything about Jeff’s big plan, at least not during dinner, but he clearly isn’t very happy about it because he doesn’t want his son to fight his battles for him. But regardless, Jeff still doesn’t think Fallon knows anything and the two of them are still engaged. After Cecil’s outburst, Fallon realizes that Blake is the bad guy behind it all, not just with Cecil but with her own mother. After Fallon confronts her father about everything that’s been going on with Jeff, Blake tells her that she’s going to marry him despite the fact that she was going to break it off.

I don’t think anyone knows what Jeff’s major plan is just yet and we also don’t know what Blake’s counter is. But if I were to bet against who’s going to win between the Colbys versus the Carringtons, I think the Carringtons will win in the end, not only because the show revolves around them and their family but also because they, at least for the time being, have the upper hand.
