alexis and blake

On Friday night’s season one finale episode of Dynasty, Steven and Sam get married, Alexis and fake Carrington “brother” Hank get discovered, Jeff and Monica go after Carrington Atlantic, Claudia returns, and we’re left wondering about the fate of Culhane, Steven, Cristal, and Alexis.

To start, everyone is getting ready for the upcoming wedding: Anders is helping out the grooms-to be, Cristal is ruining all of Blake’s things in retaliation, Alexis is waking up next to her long-lost “son”, and Fallon is planning a coup on Carrington Atlantic to push Blake out of the company. You know, just another normal day for the Carrington’s.

Alexis’s plan starts to come together just as Fallon kicks her father out of Carrington Atlantic. Jeff and Monica want their shares of the company and to sell the company so that they’d “win” against Blake Carrington. Alexis wants the same but wants her fake son, Hank, who seems to just be her boy toy, to get his share of the company as well. But Alexis changes her mind when she finds out that Fallon’s become the new CEO of the company. But after Jeff and Monica persuade Hank with his potential billion that he’d get if they were to sell the company. And he caves.

Then Alexis finds out and gets angry, for good reason. But Hank takes the money, understandably, because he gets billions of dollars from this deal opposed to only getting 20% of whatever he would’ve gotten later on. But for some reason, Hank’s turned on by Alexis’s yelling and Cristal sees, at the very least, that kiss. Then ensues a full-on catfight between the two, with Alexis locking her in the loft.

But leave it to Fallon to step in to save the day with none other than her previous fake husband, Liam. He apparently comes from a family of billionaires and his uncle is pretty big in the energy business. So Liam’s uncle’s company is going to buy out Carrington Atlantic for much more than whatever Jeff, Colby, and Hank have. Blake obviously isn’t very happy about this but since he’s already been kicked out, he has no say in the matter anymore. Whether or not Liam’s family is saner than the Carrington’s is something we’ll have to wait and find out later on. But my guess is that they’re just as messed up as the Carrington’s, or at least enough for Liam to run away and write a book about them.

To add-on to this mess, Melissa Daniels, the senator’s wife and technically Steven’s ex-girlfriend approaches him before the wedding and tells him that she’s pregnant. And that he’s going to be a father. I think the craziest part of all of this is that Melissa is so nonchalant about it all or possibly delusional. And even after this, Steven doesn’t tell Sam about it. But then again, he doesn’t know anything about their past so Steven has a lot of explaining to do. That is if he’s even alive after that fire. Confused? Let me explain:

sam

We find out that Sam invited Anders’ estranged daughter, Kirby to the wedding after learning about her in last week’s episode. But then Steven and Fallon inform him that she’s actually crazy. But it’s too late to uninvite her now. We never get to see her face but her presence doesn’t go unnoticed because she sets the Carrington mansion on fire. Why? No clue. But it’s a little short-sided on the writers’ part if the explanation behind it is just because she’s crazy.

But aside from not knowing the reason why, Claudia and Matthew come back in this episode to also go after Blake. Almost everyone’s going after Blake in this episode, which makes sense since he’s honestly been so unbelievably infuriating, especially in the last few episodes. Claudia comes into the loft while Cristal’s locked in there and Anders goes to find a key. But we find out that Matthew’s actually just a hallucination but we don’t find that out until after Claudia shoots Cristal.

culhane

Then the fire starts and everyone tries to get out but Cristal is left on the floor of the loft with the fire starting to seep in. Culhane comes to the rescue when the Carrington’s (not including fake brother Hank and Cristal, who’s stuck in the lodge) find out that they’re locked in Blake’s office, probably because Kirby locked them in there. Culhane gets most of them out of the room but Alexis runs upstairs to go get Cristal, Steven is nowhere to be found, and Culhane goes up after Alexis. But Sam, Blake, and Fallon make it out alive as they look at the mansion going up in flames.

Comment below who you think makes it out of the fire (if any). Dynasty is rumored to come back for season 2 later this year.
