The world was sent into shock today when it was announced that Eddie Lacy, former running back of the Green Bay Packers, came to terms with the Seattle Seahawks on a one-year contract. This came as a bit of a shock for me, because ultimately I truly believed that Green Bay would do it whatever they could in their power to keep Lacy. Lacy has ran into some injury issues, and numerous questions about his weight, but now Green Bay is now stuck looking for an answer in the backfield, as it remains uncertain if Ty Montgomery can be the bell cow that they need.

The news comes after the Seahawks have already visited with other veteran running backs such as Adrian Peterson. Despite the signing, Jamaal Charles has already said that it wont effect his visit with Seattle that is scheduled for Wednesday. The prove it season, comes down to Lacy’s condition and health, and the fact that he’s still young and joining a young team that is already loaded with depth in Thomas Rawls and C.J. Procise, can be scary for the rest of the league, and not just the NFC west.

After a break-out rookie year in 2012, Lacy rushed for 1,178 yards and 11 touchdowns, but since then his total yards and touchdowns have declined. Last season Lacy only played in five games, and was placed on IR in October. If Lacy were to remain healthy, there is no telling how scary and how much of a threat this running attack can present itself to the league.
