The question I have when watching Mudiay on tape, what type of NBA player will he be? I see a lot of Rajon Rondo in the young 19 year-old. He has great speed, looks to pass the rock to his teammates and is unproven with his jump shot. He only shot 34% from 3-point land in China, where an ankle injury cost him most of the season. Originally, Mudiay committed to play his college ball at SMU, but the $1.2 million contract Guangdong offered was too much to pass up. He is solid around the rim, finishing at an impressive rate in the Chinese league, but the NBA is a different animal. He has the quickness and passing ability to do damage at the NBA level, but he will not become a star unless he can improve his shooting ability. That could happen, being only 19 years-old, Mudiay will have to be open to being coached at the next level, and put in the effort needed to improve. He is a lock as a Top 5 pick on potential and current skill-set alone.
