Extraordinary X-Men

SPOILERS!!!

This weeks issue can be summed up in one word: filler. We see Colossus and his team of the Extraordinary X-Men after they’re sent to the future only to be greeted by Apocalypse’s new Horsemen. Colossus sacrifices himself so the students can get to safety, but as we all know things didn’t work out for Piotr. We follow Anole, Glob, Martha, and Ernest as they travel to different domains of the future each controlled by a different species.

What really bothers me about this issue is that we don’t really get to know more about this team and it’s mostly just them running from place to place. They don’t get any moments of character development which in a situation like this would have been a good opportunity to further develop them. Besides that, there is also very little plot progression and the issue ends the same way as the last one with the Horsemen attacking the X-Men. Also it’s been two issues and Apocalypse has yet to appear once in any of them.

The art remains solid and each character stands out with its style and bright colors, but other than that this issue serves as a place holder not much else to say about it.
