FanDuel value of the day: MLB edition
In the age of daily fantasy games taking over the fantasy sports world, I will choose one value player for the day that not only will be low-cost, but will provide stats well above his dollar amount.
Desmond Jennings-OF-Tampa Bay Rays
FanDuel cost: $2,800
Desmond Jennings is a huge value in tonight’s game, or whenever he plays the Toronto Blue Jays for that matter. Jennings dominates the Jays, he is a career .308 hitter against them with 10 HRs (his most against any MLB team) and 22 RBI (tied with Boston for the most against any MLB team). He faces rookie left-handed pitcher Daniel Norris, (who I am a huge fan of) which suites the right-handed Jennings well. Another key factor that most will not know about, the playing surface in Toronto. The Blue Jays installed a new playing surface this season that the players are not accustomed to yet. It plays a lot slower than the older surface which was low-cut AstroTurf, the new style is higher and thicker, enabling players like Jennings who have speed, to run-out and get infield singles as the infielders do not yet understand how to play the ball on the turf.
Jennings might not be in the top five or even ten outfielders, but he will be close, and for the money you will be saving, the value is evident. $2,800 is a steal, but you’ll have to scroll down your page to find him.
