With the fourth overall pick, the Oakland Raiders selected Amari Cooper in the first round of this year’s NFL Draft. The team has sorely lacked a true number one wide receiver in recent years, and it appears they have finally acquired one. At 6’1”, 211lbs. and sporting a 4.42 sec. 40 yd. dash, Cooper is truly a dominant force on the football field. He was selected by unanimous vote as a 2014 College All-American and received the Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s top receiver. In high school, he was one of Teddy Bridgewater’s favorite targets, and has displayed exceptional all-around physical talent by excelling in multiple sports.

In his senior season at Alabama, all Cooper did was rack up 124 receptions, 1,727 yards and 16 touchdowns on his way to a Heisman Trophy Finalist campaign. The Raiders have finally found themselves a truly elite wide receiver talent. With Derek Carr as quarterback, Cooper should have few problems, if any at all, in transitioning to the NFL. He dominated during his freshman year in college and should be physically mature enough to handle his new surroundings. Together Carr and Cooper may just become one of the league’s premier young duos. Carr had a solid rookie season last year and should continue to improve. The addition of a new, potentially elite receiver and a game changing physical force at that should help Derek produce at even greater levels this coming season. Raider fans and fantasy owners alike have significant reason for hope when it comes to this young pair of players. Keep your eye on Amari Cooper.
