Fantasy Waiver Adds and Injuries for Week 5

Wow just like that a quarter of the season is wrapped up. We’ve seen a lot so far from the mighty Cardinals fighting for a chance to stay relevant in the NFC west as they look up the ladder at the first place 3-1 Rams. The Carolina Panthers are another team to struggle early on in the season, and the Broncos well they just keep finding ways to win. With that said he are key injuries that’ll affect your line up for week 5 and waiver adds you need to do to get a win.

Cam Newton (Concussion)

Cam suffered a concussion following a helmet-to-helmet collision during a two-point conversion in Sunday’s loss to the Falcons. He was immediately placed in the NFL’s return to play protocol. No word at the moment if he suits up for week 5 on Monday night vs the Bucs.

Carson Palmer (Concussion)

Palmer suffered a concussion vs the Rams after getting his head slammed on the turf. Just like Cam he was also said placed on the NFL’s return to play protocol. He’s already been ruled out vs the 49ers on the road in a short week. A return date will be announced later next week.

Trevor Siemian (Shoulder)

The Broncos QB suffered a left shoulder injury against Tampa Bay and is questionable entering week 5. He was taken out of the game as Paxton Lynch took over at QB. Siemian injured the AC joint. Although it was his non throwing shoulder the team is optimistic about his chances of playing.

Dez Bryant (Knee)

The big time Cowboys receiver missed Sunday’s win over the 49ers with an injured right leg. It was announced as an MCL sprain at first, but Bryant was ultimately diagnosed with a hairline fracture of his tibia. Reports on this have been all over the place, as the timetable for a return can be a minimum of three weeks, and there is  chance that Dez can be on the field in week 5.

Waiver-wire adds for week 5 (in no particular order)

Terrance West RB

After the Ravens sat Justin Forsett in week 4 and eventually released, it was West’s job to lose. He made the most of  racing up 113 yards on 21 carries and a touchdown.

Bilal Powell RB

Just as we figured a committee was going to take place in NY. Forte is still one of the top RB’s in the league, but at his age it makes sense to ease up his carries a bit and split them with Powell. In week 4 Powell caught 6 balls for 54 yards and rushed 4 times for 26 yards.

Dontrelle Inman WR

With Keenan Allen and Danny Woodhead out for the season somebody had to step up in SD. Inman came up big reeling in 7 catches for 120 yards and a touchdown. He should be added in all leagues regardless of size.

Robert Woods WR

It was announced last week that Sammy Watkins was placed on IR and well at least miss the next seven games. Woods hauled in seven catches for 89 yards, and is a must add in PPR formats.

Paxton Lynch QB

If Siemian can’t go for week 5 and you need an option for QB in deeper leagues Lynch is worth a stream. He threw for 170 and a touchdown taking over for Siemian.

Carson Wentz QB

If for some reason Wentz is still available pick him up before he blows up. He also has  nice match-up against Detroit after coming off a bye.

Eddie Royal WR

We’ve seen Royal burst-out in games but the problem is it’s hard to predict when those games will happen. Nonetheless he’s still a must add especially in deeper leagues. Kevin White is out with an injury and Alshon Jefferey hasn’t been himself lately. Royal caught 7 balls for 111 yards and a TD in week 4.

Cole Beasely WR

In deep PPR leagues Beasely is a must add. From week to week he keeps getting a healthy amount of looks and targets from Dak Prescott. Get him if he’s still available.

Hunter Henry TE

Antonio Gates doesn’t seem ready for week 5 just yet, and if you’re suffering from a bye this week with TE’s such as Jimmy Graham, Fleener and Travis Kelce being out Henry is an interesting pick up and stream. He caught 4 balls for 61 yards and a TD in week 4.

Sammie Coates WR

Coates has the speed on an already high potent Steelers offense and is looking more like the WR 2 it’s Pittsburgh. In week 4 he brought in 6 catches for 79 yards, and is repeated being targeted by Roethlisberger.
