Final Premier League Prediction: 10-6
Finally we’ve reached the Top 10. Let’s continue up the table.
From sitting 18th in the first prediction to now being a Top 10 team is miraculous. Everton started extremely poor when the season started, and thanks to a coaching change and some personnel adjustment, Everton have kept it together. Right now they’re in a fight with the predicted 9th position team, but based on the fixtures ahead and results of late, this seems to be the landing spot. It isn’t a bad one either.
This team has done an excellent job. Based on the team they brought in for the year, this season exceeded expectations. There’s much left to be done this season but based on the schedule ahead and the quality in the team, 9th is very realistic. Everton battling with them shouldn’t make this team shudder to be dropped further down the table, the quality is too good and the coaching is grounded, finally.
8. Leicester City
This is where the table sets itself in stone. Leicester certainly aren’t anywhere near their form from the PL title-winning campaign. The team still is very competitive. Most of their upcoming opponents are at their level or below with only one Top 6 opponent left to face. If they can keep good results against the lower opposition, it can set them up to compete well enough to secure another season in top flight football.
There’s no denying Burnley as a threat. They’ve moved beyond mediocrity and into nearly a European football spot. Burnley flirted in the Top 4 briefly during the season, and almost looked like a team hellbent on shaking the Premier League to the core like Leicester. 7th certainly is a successful campaign and there’s excitement to see if they can follow it up next year.
At this point even outside the Arsenal fan base, we’re shaking our heads. It’s incredible how manager Arsene Wenger has maintained his role in the club among the chaos. Arsenal will miss the Champions League again, and at this point it’s time for Wenger to leave. It was predicted in the beginning that if Arsenal didn’t perform well Wenger would be sacked. As days turn to weeks, which turn to months, all factors point to Wenger possibly staying in the club another season. 6th is extremely disappointing for a club with the talent they brought in with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Stay tuned for the Top 5.
