Food Network Star episode 3 recap
Tonight’s episode of Food Network Star opened with a brief summary of what went down on last Sunday’s episode.
The new cooking challenge presented to the 10 existing contestants was to make up a five course meal. Each course had a different theme. The themes were: Appetizers–jungle, Seafood–beach, forest–pasta, desert–meat, and finally mountains–dessert. It was also to be presented in Experiential restaurant format.
The contestants were broken up into two teams. On Jason’s team each team member took a course with no arguments or hard feelings.The other team not so much. Two contestants (Suzanne and Trace) wanted the dessert course.
After the cooking was done and dished up the contestants each had to film a 30 second video describing the dish they made. The idea was to woo patrons to their dish and away from the opposing team.
Jason’s team seemed to have nailed the onscreen presentation. Rusty’s team did not. Whether it was nerves or time constraints Rusty’s team failed in the video format.
Kentucky’s sweetheart Jason Smith was in the top this week.He caused the judges to fall in love with his mountain berry compote with nuts and a molasses ginger mousse. He also has won the judge’s hearts with his sayings. This week was “My mountain berry dessert is so delicious yo tongue will slap yo brains out.”
Somehow it’s not as funny when i try to copy him. You will just have to watch the show Sundays at 9:00 pm on Food Network to see why we love him and want him to win. See you next week.
