Food Network Star Episode 4 recap
Tonight’s episode of Food Network Star began with all nine contestants going to the wilderness to go glamping. Each team had three members: Jason, Cao and David. Addy, Rusty and Trace. Finally Amy, Corey and Matthew.
Each team had camping staples to make fresh dinners from .Corey pickled fried chicken with beef jerky gravy, Amy potato cakes with cream sauce and Matthew fried stuffing, with a chocolate s’more mousse.
Jason fixed cowboy baked beans using canned beans, molasses, garlic, onions and raisins. In addition, Jason made the teams dessert with a trail mix s’mores cinnamon pudding with peanuts. Cao made grilled hash browns and David made chicken wings crusted in potato chips. Unfortunately, David suffered a mild allergic reaction easily fixed from tasting Jason’s pudding. Jason felt bad about it but some things can’t be helped. The dialogue between the two was light-hearted and enjoyable.
Rusty made corn bread barbecued chicken and slaw sliders. The corn bread was too dry and his oral presentation was not what the judges wanted. Addy made two potato, potato salad with potato chips, greek yogurt, cranberries and onion with grilled corn. Addy made the dessert for the team and came up with s’mores bark. Trace made tomato soup in hollowed out bell peppers.
Both Corey’s and Jason’s team were safe with Jason’s team in #1 place. The loser was Trace as he fell short on taste but they loved his creativity with the peppers.
Trace was the latest contestant to go home, but My Fantasy Sports Talk’s favorite is Jason Smith who has shown to be the most talented not only on-screen, but in the kitchen as well.
