Food Network Star episode 7 Recap
The latest episode of Food Network Star opens with the remaining contestants minus Cory who was ill and unable to participate in the first challenge.
Each contestant was tasked to make a dish that would normally take hours to cook in only 30 minutes. They must not compromise flavor and they have to present it in just one minute.
Jason cooked osso bucco, an Italian dish consisting of veggies, herbs and veal. Jason won on presentation and taste. Amy made chili con carne inside a fried cornbread ball. The judges thought her chili was too chewy due to the last-minute decision to fry it with flour, making it very dense.
Matt made coq au vin in a pastry. A french dish with chicken and wine. He had to ask Jason and David what it was. Matt’s dish didn’t win the judges hearts over.
Rusty fixed beef bourguignon and the judges loved it. David’s was a pot roast sandwich with some of his biker-flare.
Jason won this round and was given a special advantage to be named later.
The next challenge was beat Bobby Flay. Jason as the winner of the previous round, chose Amy as the opposing teams captain. Each of the two teams had three players. Jason, Matt, and Rusty versus Amy, David and Corey.
Jason’s team fixed an heirloom tomato salad. Judge Anne Burrell thought the plate had a little too much going on (too many ingredients).
Amy’s dish was way too hot and inedible due to red-hot chili peppers that Corey put on at the end–without telling his teammates mind you. Jason’s team was deemed safe until next week. Amy’s losing team each had to make their signature dish going up against Bobby Flay’s. If their dish was better, they would be safe for the week.
They were to be judged in a blind taste test by Anne. They had to make the dish in 60 minutes. Bobby was worried he would run out of time trying to cook 3 dishes at the same time.
Amy made buttered filet and veggies, her steak was under done and cost her points.David made shrimp and grits although Anne loved the presentation she loved Bobby’s for taste. Corey made pan roasted duck with red-eye gravy was so good he actually beat out Bobby’s and was the one of the three safe for the week.
In the end David lacked the most points. so he was the contestant who was eliminated this week.https://www.myfantasysportstalk.com/food-network-star-episode-7-recap/https://i1.wp.com/www.myfantasysportstalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/food_network_star_7207.jpg?fit=620%2C284&ssl=1https://i1.wp.com/www.myfantasysportstalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/food_network_star_7207.jpg?resize=150%2C150&ssl=1EntertainmentRecent PostsTV ShowsFood Network StarThe latest episode of Food Network Star opens with the remaining contestants minus Cory who was ill and unable to participate in the first challenge.
