Ball is life

The Lakers play in arguably the largest market in sports. They have had players wear the purple and gold that have been considered some of the best to play the game. Kareem Abdul-Jabar, Magic Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kobe Bryant are just a few of them.

During Thursday’s draft, they used their second pick to select Lonzo Ball out of UCLA. Many people may think that this is a publicity thing, as Lonzo’s dad, Lavar, constantly is drawing new headlines. People feel that drafting Ball is a mistake because they think he will be a bust.

The Lakers obviously feel differently. Not only did they make sure that he was the player they were drafting, but they paved the way for him to become a starter very early by trading D’Angelo Russell to the Brooklyn Nets.

They brought in Brook Lopez with that same trade which gives them a player who can at least be somewhat of a scoring threat inside.

They are also still seeking to add Paul George to their team.

For the Lakers, Lonzo Ball is their future. It is time for everyone to start buying into that fact.

Lonzo was a great playmaker at UCLA. His shooting form may leave something to be desired in terms of beauty, but it is still pretty effective.

In addition to his skills on the court, his swagger and the attitude his family brings has the potential to bring ‘Showtime’ back to the Lakers.

Remember, Lonzo is not the one that should upset you. He is not the one out there constantly running his mouth. If you want to hate on the player, you can only hate on his game.
