Fox made the announcement Tuesday. Network spokesman Dan Bell said Fox was discussing different roles with Reynolds, who also works for the MLB Network, and Verducci, who also works for the MLB Network and Sports Illustrated.

Reynolds is one of the best analysts I have ever heard in the game of baseball. He gives insightful takes while making the sometimes slow-paced game more entertaining. That being said, Smoltz has shown he has the talent on camera just as he did on the diamond. In two years, Smoltz has gone from working occasionally in the booth to a lead analyst for Fox, a sign he is qualified to say the least.
