Friday Night Lights Star Taylor Kitsch is David Koresh in the new ‘Waco’ series
Paramount TV is premiering a six-part event series in January based on the true story of the Waco, TX stand-off
If you were around in the 90’s you’ll remember hearing about the stand-off between the leader of the Branch Davidians David Koresh and the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms which lasted for 51 days from February 28th-April 19th of 1993. Koresh and his followers built an “Army of God” by piling up weapons in preparation for the apocalypse, causing the BATF to raid their compound in Waco, TX which started the stand-off. Koresh believed the lord was willing he and his followers to build the stockpile of weapons. The stand-off left 4 BATF agents dead along with 6 of Koresh’s followers from the gunfight which ended with Koresh shooing himself in the head.
Former Friday Night Lights star Taylor Kitsch plays David Koresh. Also starring in the series is John Leguizamo, Michael Shannon, Melissa Benoist, Julia Garner, Eric Lange, and Shea Whigham. See the trailer here:
